WRIST STRENGTHENING EXERCISES

 

Benefits

  • Preventive measure and beneficial remedy for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Strengthens the wrist joints

  • Relaxes the fingers after long hours of typing

  • Relaxes the arms and improves circulation

Instructions

  • Raise your arms straight in front of you

  • Keep your fingers outstretched and away from each other (as shown below in Image 1)

  • Now move your hands up and down, with the movement involved only at the wrist joints.

  • Repeat up and down movement 8 times

Precautions & Tips to be kept in mind

  • Do not wear very constrictive clothing while practicing the exercises

  • Avoid practicing exercises immediately after having a heavy meal.

  • Do not strain yourself to do any of the exercises if you feel excessive pain during the movements.

  • If you have any specific medical condition, please consult your doctor before you start the office yoga regime.

  • Do not hold your breath while stretching. Breathe deeply in slow rhythm with your movement.

  • Loosen your waist belts and take off your spectacles before beginning the exercises.
